“Our feelings are our most genuine paths to knowledge.”

 Audre Lorde

I am Adriana, a Cuban, Afro Latin singer, songwriter and poet based in England. My mission is to entertain while forming connections between people of all cultures everywhere I go through music, dance and poetry. I believe in the power of music to heal, unite and create what otherwise would have seem impossible. I have a passion for singing groups, choirs and community theatre and I impart workshops all over the UK.   I have performed for radio and TV, including BBC & Netflix, The Guardian podcast, theatres, festivals, and venues such at Ronnie Scott's, Love Supreme, Brighton Festival across the UK and globally.  I co-write for and front bands LO KE BA and Son Guarachando,  one of the best Latin and Salsa bands in the UK. You can listen to my music and videos in streaming platforms. I became an Arts and Health practitioner after experiencing sound healing post lockdown and BLM in 2020. I started using music to consciously  manage mental health by combining  my knowledge of allopathic medicine and collaborating with artists (such as Akila Richards with The Rest Experience) healers, healthcare professionals, spiritual and community  leaders to create workshops, healing spaces, safe spaces and wellbeing experiences for Black & people of colour, women, queer folk, refugees and for everyone in general in the community regardless of their background. I am part of the committee of the Women of Colour Brighton Group, a collective of 1500+ Black women and women of colour, including non-binary and trans women of colour.

Some of the organisations I work with are Afrori Books (only library in the UK that specialises in Black authors) Radical Rhizomes a LGBTQ+ organisation for Black & POCs, Banyan Tree Theatre Group, BARCO, a Black antiracist collective, The Rest Experience and other community organisations.  In 2022 I was published her autobiographical poem "Girl Song" at Covert by Writing Our Legacy. In 2024 I was awarded the DYPC Arts Councils England grant and a Soho House Fellowship and I co-created with Akila Richards a series of mini-retreats with the singing group  "Lullabies For The Exhausted".
